Rehabilitation

St. Mary's of Michigan offers a comprehensive neurological rehabilitation program for patients with neurological problems resulting from stroke, spinal cord injury, head injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, and vestibular disorders. Our goals are: • Maximizing functional mobility, self-care and communication
• Preventing secondary complications
• Promoting healthy living   Patients benefiting from our program include those with: • Swallowing difficulties
• Problems using or understanding language
• Muscle weaknesses
• Paralysis
• Problems coordinating voluntary muscle movements
• Spasms
• Balance problems
• Vertigo
• Impaired cognitive and perceptive abilities   We use a team approach of physical, occupational, and recreational therapists with specialized training in neurodevelopmental treatment. Our philosophy demands active patient AND family participation. We monitor and adjust our treatment plans with monthly team meetings with therapists, patients, and family.
