Physicians Plan to ‘Cycle India’
The finish line of a past Cycle India
With a goal of providing health and education to all, doctors Deborah Russell and Raghu Sarvepalli will Cycle India with 30 others from the US and UK to raise funds and awareness for the underprivileged children in India.
Cycle India is a charity bike ride which will take place January 2 through January 9. The ride is 190 miles through the Southern Indian state of Karnataka, through beautiful villages, towns and scenic countryside. Along with doctors Russell and Sarvepalli, three others from the area will be joining them; Bruce Hill, HealthPlus CEO and his wife, and Julie Dean, Dr. Philip A. Dean’s wife.
The charity ride is to raise funds for Heal, a UK registered charity dedicated to providing education and health care for orphaned and destitute children in Andhra Pradesh, India. Heal was founded in 1992 and has provided shelter, support, education and healthcare to over 1,000 needy children in Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Sarvepalli is determined to help others in his native land. With his personal contributions and help from his colleagues, his goal this year is to be able to support 100 children. Anyone interested in more information or supporting this cause should contact Dr. Sarvepalli.
