Foundation Executive Director Named
Karen Stiffler has been named Executive Director of the St. Mary's of Michigan Foundation. Stiffler, a resident of Midland, has been serving as interim director since July and has 10 years of experience as the Development Officer at St. Mary's of Michigan Foundation.
She has 18 years of fund development, marketing and public relations experience including previous roles in development and marketing for the Saginaw Choral Society and the Girl Scouts. She has dedicated her professional time to the work of public relations and fund development in the healthcare, human services, community service and arts and culture sectors.
Stiffler is an active participant in many local groups and serves on several local not-for-profit community boards including the Child Abuse and Neglect Council of Saginaw County, Saginaw Choral Society and East Central District of the Public Relations Society of America. She is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Association of Healthcare Philanthropy.
She holds a Bachelors of Applied Arts in Journalism, and a Masters of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University and is nationally accredited in public relations (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America.
The St. Mary's of Michigan Foundation supports the hospital by attaining the financial resources necessary to purchase state-of-the-art medical and diagnostic equipment, provide innovative programs to the community, advanced training to health care professionals and to expand the hospital's 23 specialty centers.
