Understanding Dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease, Free Community Education Presentation
St. Mary’s of Michigan Field Neurosciences Institute will offer a special grand rounds presentation on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease for the community to attend on Thursday, June 20.
The free presentation, which starts at 7 p.m., will feature talks by Dr. E. Malcolm Field and Dr. Elliott Mufson, a panel discussion, and a question and answer session.
A complimentary buffet is available from 6 to 7 p.m. – RSVP is required. The presentation will take place at St. Mary’s of Michigan Masud Lecture Hall, 800 S. Washington, Saginaw.
E. Malcolm Field, M.D., nationally renowned neurosurgeon, established the SaginawValley as a premier neurologic care center of excellence. As Founder and Medical Director of the Field Neurosciences Institute (FNI) at St. Mary’s of Michigan, Dr. Field’s vision is to provide compassionate care, technological services, and extensive research, educational, and prevention programs.
Dr. Mufson is Professor of Neuroscience and The Alla V. and Solomon Jesmer Chair inAging at Rush Presbyterian in Chicago. His research revolves around gaining a greater understanding of the mechanisms underlying the selective vulnerability of neuronal populations which degenerate in people with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease.
