Event to Honor Cancer Survivors
Saturday, September 14 cancer survivors are invited to join us for a special brunch at Horizons Conference Center honoring the courage and perseverance of our community's cancer survivors. National Cancer Survivors Day 2013 is a celebration of life and survivorship. Registration will begin at 9 am, brunch will be served at 9:30 am, and at 10 am the program will begin featuring speaker Kay Wagner, MSN, RN, CTM and her talk on Smiling and Surviving. The program will conclude by noon.
There is no charge to attend, but due to limited seating, reservations are required. Interested participants are asked to reserve their spot by calling the American Cancer Society at (989) 895-1731.
The program is sponsored by the American Cancer Society, the Covenant Cancer Care Center, Horizons Conference Center, Saginaw Radiation Oncology Center and St. Mary's of Michigan.
About Speaker Kay Wagner
Humor and health come naturally to Kay Wagner, MSN, RN, CTM. As a mother of three, a nurse since 1985, and just your average normal human being living here in Michigan, she has an eclectic assortment of experiences, stories and life lessons to draw upon. She believes that all life experiences, whether good or bad, can ultimately empower people to become more compassionate, caring and courageous individuals.
Kay feels that audience members appreciate hearing real life stories from others to enhance their own personal lives. Her presentation affords the opportunity for others to sit back, relax and escape the demands of their busy lives if only for a few moments.
