Seton Cancer Institute Receives Over $7,000 From Tanger Outlets
The Tanger Outlet Center in West Branch donated $7,239.34 locally for the battle against breast cancer. During this season of hope and giving, Tanger made its local donation to St. Mary’s Seton Cancer Institute during a special ceremony at Seton Cancer Institute in West Branch on December 19, 2013.
"It takes all of us working together with a common focus and determination to find a cure for this terrible disease,” stated Steven B. Tanger, President and Chief Executive Officer for Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. "I am proud of our Tanger Team members in West Branch for their continued hard work in fighting breast cancer and I thank our shoppers for supporting Tanger’s mission to find a cure.”
Accepting the donation were members of the Seton Cancer Institute team, including Seton Cancer Center Director Kathi Smith-Nowlin, Seton Cancer Center – West Branch Manager Amy Curtis, St. Mary’s of Michigan Foundation Executive Director Karen Stiffler, and West Branch staff members. "We’re very fortunate to be able to have these funds to help those that need it most, women and men who do not have the resources to receive their screening mammograms. This generous donation will literally help save lives.” Said Kathi Smith-Nowlin, Seton Cancer Center Director.
Tanger’s 2013 PinkStyle Campaign ran September 12th - October 25th with funds being raised through the sale of the popular TangerStyle Pink Card. For a $5 donation to local breast cancer beneficiaries, Tanger customers received a special pink savings cards that provided 25% bonus savings at participating Tanger Outlet stores. With its primary mission to help save lives, Tanger’s Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign creates awareness for the importance of early detection and helps raise the money necessary to support ongoing breast cancer research.
Tanger’s campaign also helps fund many important programs and facilities designed to improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients. Since 1994, Tanger has donated over $13.5 million to fight breast cancer nationally.
