Cheryl VanOoteghem, RN
Director of Surgical Services at St. Mary’s of Michigan, Cheryl VanOoteghem, was hired at St. Mary’s of Michigan in May of 1987 and has been the Director of the Surgical Services since 1999. Through her 27 years of service at St. Mary’s of Michigan, Cheryl has been providing a vast array of surgical service expertise. Cheryl acquired her BSN in 1988. She obtained her BLS certification in 1985 and her DIM certification in 1987 and has maintained both certifications since this time.
Cheryl is a key member of the St. Mary’s of Michigan family and holds her staff to an extremely high level of standards.
Bariatric Center Manager, Certified Bariatric Coach
Bariatric Center Manager at St. Mary’s of Michigan. Lisa received her certification as a Bariatric Support Group Leader and Back on Track Facilitator in 2010 with Bariatric Support Centers International. She received her certification as a Bariatric Coach in February of 2014.
Lisa is also a bariatric patient and has been through the process. She understands the steps toward a healthier you and will be there to guide and support you on your journey.
Bariatric Nutrition Expert
Megan Hammis, Registered Dietitian
Megan is a registered dietitian nutritionist. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Central Michigan University and completed her dietetic internship at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI. She started her career as an outpatient dietitian working in an eating disorder and substance abuse clinic, then continued on to work at long term care and sub-acute rehab facilities in the metro-Detroit area and in Saginaw.
Megan is passionate about health, nutrition, food and helping people. She loves teaching and seeing the "lightbulb” turn on for her clients when they learn something new about nutrition. She embraces each client's individuality and will help them implement the best plan to achieve their personal goals, focusing on what motivates them and encouraging them during their entire journey. She will be an active part of your bariatric support team every step of the way!
