Rehabilitation Services

Our team of rehabilitation experts, including Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists and Speech & Language Pathologists at St. Mary’s of Michigan, are trained to treat patients across the spectrum of Inpatient and Outpatient Services.

The rehabilitation team may include any of the following: physical therapists and assistants, occupational therapists, social workers, nurse case managers, physicians and, most importantly, YOU! Our individualized approach to therapy allows us to establish realistic goals for therapy with your continuous input.

A comprehensive evaluation at the beginning of the treatment process allows the therapist to establish the most appropriate interventions for you. The rehabilitation team can also assist with injury prevention, energy conservation, home evaluations, adaptive equipment and safety recommendations as appropriate.

The State of Michigan is considered a Direct Access State for Physical Therapy, meaning that a patient is able to seek out physical therapy services without a physician referral. This does not apply to occupational therapy or speech/language pathology services.

However, most insurances, including Medicare, still require a signed prescription for therapy to allow for reimbursement for care. Referrals can be received from allopathic physicians (MD), osteopathic physicians (DO), physician assistants (PA-C); podiatrists (DPM) and dentists (DDS).

We look forward to serving you for your rehabilitation needs. We Believe in Better and helping you live a Better life! For additional information, please look at our Locations or contact one of our clinics to be placed into contact with one of our rehabilitation experts!
