Endoscopy
Patients who suffer from acid reflux and other digestive disorders no longer need to travel outside the area for testing. St. Mary's of Michigan Standish Hospital offers a healing-edge endoscopy unit equipped with advanced videoscopes and staffed by a renowned gastroenterologist.
Endoscopy is a means of looking inside the body using a long, flexible tube equipped with a camera. The tube is inserted into the body and the camera transmits images to a monitor so that the physician can see problems and, in some cases, correct them on the spot with specialized tools that pass through the scope channels.
